MaeCarol Press is an independent publishing imprint founded by Cathy R. Foreman, named in homage to her grandmother, Fannie Mae, and her aunt, Marjorie Carol, who passed six months apart in 2000.

They were two of the three women who loved her first and helped shape who she became.

The name is not incidental. Neither are the dates chosen for book releases, the magnolia, the intentionally chosen last digits of the ISBNs for What We Found Along the Way and Marked by History, or the yellow pages tucked into the front of RebelSoul. There is intention woven throughout the work. MaeCarol Press is part of that intention, a way to keep Fannie Mae and Marjorie Carol present in the stories, photographs, histories, and questions that carry their name forward.

Books published under MaeCarol Press are rooted in history, memory, identity, culture, and curiosity. Though each work takes a different form, they share a belief that the stories worth preserving are often the ones we almost overlook, the ones tucked inside family memories, discovered along back roads, captured between moments, or left unrecorded altogether.

MaeCarol Press is where those stories are given a place to live.
